HOT SPRINGS, Ark. _ Cooperative Christian Ministries and Clinic hosted an open house recently to celebrate its newly updated oral hygiene program thanks to a $10,000 grant from Delta Dental and the Hot Springs Area Community Foundation. “This is a big leap for us in helping the uninsured and underserved in Hot Springs, and we are so excited,” Dr. Jack Porter, chairman of the CCMC board of directors, said to The Sentinel-Record. ASHDOWN, Ark. _ Students at Ashdown Elementary had a century-old treat on their 100th day of school, as 100-year-old Lessie B. Green took time to read them a story. She read “The 100th Day of School” by Angela Shelf Medearis to the group of excited children, some of whom were dressed in their best granny and grandpa gear, complete with silver hair, curlers and painted-on wrinkles. MARSHALS MUSEUM _ A group in Fort Smith has announced its opposition to a proposed temporary sales tax to help finance exhibits in a U.S. Marshals Museum in the western Arkansas city.
