Matt Gerhard to perform for concert series
MICHIGAN CITY — The Roosevelt Organ Concert Series is in its 17th season, continuing throughout the summer. The free concerts are held at Christ Church, 521 Washington St., Michigan City.
The July 18 program will be presented by Matt Gerhard of Kokomo, Indiana.
Gerhard is currently Director of Music at Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church and Choral Assistant at Northwestern MS/HS in Kokomo. He graduated with a degree in Church Music from Olivet Nazarene University and a Masters in Choral Conducting from California Baptist University. Gerhard has performed programs of classical organ music, theatre organ music, and gospel piano music for various churches and other organizations. Gerhard currently serves as First-Vice President of the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society, Registrar and Pipe Organ Festival Coordinator for the Indianapolis Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and is a Board Member of the Kokomo Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Gerhard holds membership in the Indiana Choral Directors Association.
Seating is at noon, with music beginning at 12:15 p.m. The building is air-conditioned.
