Vincent Village hosts open house for home built with federal funds
Vincent Village today hosted an open house at a new home on Lillie Street built with federal funds from the city’s Office of Housing & Neighborhood Services.
A family living at Just Neighbors Interfaith Homeless Network will be moving into the home, allowing room for another family at the homeless shelter, the city said in a statement.
The city said it invested about $400,000 in federal Housing and Urban Development funds in the new home and five others that have been rehabilitated on the Vincent Village campus.
Vincent Village, a local nonprofit, owns 35 single-family homes as well as 10 units in Vincent House that are open to homeless families from local emergency shelters and partner organizations.
