Letter: Testimony gives Dr. Ford undeserved fame
I watched the testimony of Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh and I was not very impressed with the way it was handled. These are some of the questions the Republicans should have asked,
To Dr. Ford:
What were you, as a 14-year-old girl, doing in a party with four 17-year-old boys? Why did you go upstairs to the bathroom, houses have first-floor bathrooms for guests? If there was loud music playing, as you said, and you locked yourself in the bathroom in great fears, how did you know the boys “pinballed” off the walls as they went down the stairs? Why didn’t you call your parents to take you home?
To Judge Kavanaugh:
Did you often go to drinking parties with 14-year-old girls?
But the worst lie was by the Democrats when they, each one at a time, claimed Dr. Ford had nothing to gain from coming forward. Dr. Ford is now world famous. She can charge high fees for speeches. She will have many more students trying to get into her classes, etc.
I asked my son, a 55-year-old Minnesotan, “Do you know who Anita Hill is?” He answered, “Yes.”
I asked, “Do you know who your two senators are?” He only knew one of them. The press has a Catch-22 when they report school shootings and mass murders. If they use the person’s name, they may cause more mass killings. Killers become world famous even if they are dead.
