62-year-old man in critical condition after fall Riverside Discovery Center
On Monday evening, emergency personnel responded to a call at the Riverside Discovery Center concerning a 62-year-old male that had reportedly fell from some scaffolding at the zoo.
The man was transported to Regional West Medical Center by ambulance.
Anthony Mason, director at the Riverside Discovery Center, said Tuesday that the man who fell had been a private contractor working at the zoo. Initially, zoo staff said it was believed that the man may be OK, however, the man’s daughter told the Star-Herald that the man was hospitalized and listed in critical condition.
Initial scanner reports indicated the man was 50 years old, but his daughter clarified that he is 62.
