BASKING RIDGE, N.J. (AP) _ Barnes & Noble Education Inc. (BNED) on Wednesday reported a loss of $38.6 million in its fiscal first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Basking Ridge, New Jersey-based company said it had a loss of 82 cents.

The operator of book stores on college campuses posted revenue of $337.5 million in the period.

Barnes & Noble Education expects full-year revenue in the range of $2.2 billion to $2.3 billion.

Barnes & Noble Education shares have declined 23 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 7 percent in the last 12 months.
