Pair shot at while chasing their stolen car in Bloomfield
A man and a woman chasing their stolen car were shot at early Thursday in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood.
Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri said officers responded around 1:48 a.m. to a report of shots fired near Taylor Street and Corday Way.
Togneri said one vehicle was chasing another in the area. Police saw the cars on Corday, then heard multiple gunshots from one of the cars and saw a vehicle stopped on Taylor at Liberty.
“The occupants told police they had spotted their car, a Toyota Camry that had been stolen in Larimer, and began chasing it,” Togneri said. “The occupants said someone in the stolen car began shooting at them.”
The victim’s vehicle was hit twice in the windshield. The man and woman inside, who were not identified, were hit by shattered glass. Paramedics responded, “but no further medical treatment was required,” Togneri said.
Police are investigating.
