SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say two young men are accused in the fatal hit-and-run death of a motorcyclist on Interstate 25 near Santa Fe.

The New Mexico State Police says 22-year-old Ryan Palma of Santa Fe was driving a car that rear-ended a motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Emmanuel Hernandez Gonzalez, a Santa Fe resident who was fatally injured in the collision that occurred around midnight Sunday.

The State Police says Palma and his passenger, 21-year-old Armando Alvarado of Santa Fe, were arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, tampering with evidence and other charges.

According to the State Police, circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.

Court records don’t indicate whether Palma and Alvarado have attorneys who could comment on the allegations.
