UConn women announce future series with Arkansas at Little Rock
UConn announced Tuesday it has agreed to a home-and-home series with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
The Huskies are scheduled to host Little Rock in 2020-21 and will visit the Trojans in 2021-22. The return game will serve as a homecoming for guard Christyn Williams.
These will be the first meetings between the two schools.
Williams, a native of Little Rock, Ark., who played at Central Arkansas Christian School, is averaging 13.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 13 games as a freshman for UConn. She’s also averaging 34.3 minutes, which is tied with guard Crystal Dangerfield for most on the team.
Little Rock has been remarkably consistent under Joe Foley, winning at least 20 games in 11 of the last 12 years. The Trojans captured their second straight Sun Belt Conference title last year, going 23-10 and losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Florida State, 91-49.
The Trojans are off to a 6-7 start this season.
