Weber St. 75, Idaho St. 61

OGDEN, Utah (AP) _ Alex Fisher scored 22 points and Damien Baskerville and Ryan Cuff added 17 and 13 points respectively to lead Weber State to a 75-61 victory over Idaho State Thursday night.

The Bengals (6-5, 2-1 Big Sky) were led by Nate Green with 26 points and Ron Harwell had 13 points, including 12 in the first half.

Weber State (6-6, 2-1) led 36-28 at halftime, and extended its lead for the first 15 minutes of the second half.

With 5:09 to play, the Bengals’ Mack Tarver was called for a technical and Cuff hit both foul shots to put Weber up 69-51, the widest margin of the contest.

ISU scored the next 10 points, with Green scoring eight and Rob Preston finishing the run with a slam dunk with 1:08 left to cut Weber’s lead to 69-61.

Weber then hit 6-of-6 from the line, including two by Fisher and four by Baskerville.

Weber State controlled the first half as Fisher made 13 points and Cuff eight.

Jimmy Smith made a driving layup with 5:30 to intermission to put the Wildcats up 26-13.

However, the Bengals then outscored the Wildcats 9-2 and Justin Sant made a field goal with 3:38 to play and Idaho State trailed 28-22.
