Darkwave artist Dancing Plague, aka Conor Knowles, returns to the Observatory
If you missed his November show at the Observatory, don’t fret; after touring around the country this fall, darkwave artist Dancing Plague, aka Conor Knowles, is back.
As per a Facebook post, fans can expect to hear a lot of new material at this hometown show, Friday at the Observatory.
These new tunes follow “Pure Desperation,” Knowles’ debut full-length as Dancing Plague, which was released in March.
According to Knowles, speaking to the Chico (California) News and Review earlier this year, “Pure Desperation” was inspired by a time when his personal life took a few hits.
“Without really knowing it, that kind of ended up influencing the emotional tone of the album…,” he said. “If you want to break it down into scenes, it’s about dealing with anxiety and depression, maybe trying to come to terms with mortality.”
“Pure Desperation” is available to stream at dancingplaguemusic.bandcamp.com. CD and cassette versions are sold out, but Knowles might have a few on hand at this show.
