Hungarian Leader, Clinton To Meet
WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Clinton will play host to Hungarian President Arpad Goncz for a state visit from June 7 to June 9, the White House announced Monday.
``The visit will celebrate Hungary’s long struggle for freedom, democracy and human rights,″ White House press secretary Joe Lockhart said in a prepared statement.
Goncz was jailed for six years for his role in the 1956 Hungarian revolution.
Clinton and his Hungarian counterpart were expected to discuss Hungary’s role as a new member of in NATO and the crisis in Kosovo.
