Police: Trio Sold Fake Crystal Meth

HANOVER TWP. — Three people are facing charges after a drug deal involving fake crystal methamphetamines, according to police. Tyler Mooney, 24, of Frackville; Frank Jones, 31, of Port Carbon; and Mariah Blackwell, 22, listed as homeless, were arrested around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, police said. Police said an operation by the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force caught Jones and Mooney selling purported meth — but the substance was not in fact meth. Jones and Mooney were charged with conspiring to sell fake drugs and selling fake drugs. Blackwell, who police said was found in possession of a glass meth pipe, was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia. Jones and Mooney were being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000. Blackwell was released on her own recognizance. — JAMES HALPIN
