Man injured after being struck by car, thrown off bicycle
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Providence man was injured when he was struck by a car and thrown off his bicycle.
The Providence Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1ZGH2vJ) the crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. Friday on Warren Street in East Providence.
Police say the 28-year-old bicyclist was traveling west near Interstate 195 when he was struck by a vehicle turning left. The bicyclist was thrown from his bike and landed on the car’s hood. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
It’s unclear whether the driver, a 37-year-old man from Fall River, Massachusetts, will face charges.
Police haven’t released the identities of the bicyclist or the driver.
