BELL GARDENS, Calif. (AP) _ Jose Luis Castillo of Mexico won the WBC lightweight title with a 12-round majority decision over defending champion Steve Johnston on Saturday.

Johnston was cut over both eyes, which were nearly closed at the end of the outdoor bout in sweltering heat at the Bicycle Gardens Casino.
