Two Injured in Chelmsford Crash

January 27, 2019

CHELMSFORD -- Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and a 46-year-old Chelmsford resident was cited for operating to endanger after a multi-car collision ended with a vehicle crashing through the front of Domino’s Pizza on Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to the restaurant, at 118 Chelmsford St., at around 2:35 p.m. following a report of the crash, according to a press release issued by the Chelmsford Police Department a few hours after the incident.

Police determined the 46-year-old Chelmsford resident, who was operating a BMW east on Chelmsford Street, struck the rear of a Toyota Highlander before continuing over a snowbank and into the rear of a parked Mazda 3, the release states. The impact pushed the unoccupied Mazda through the front of the restaurant.

Two restaurant patrons sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. They were transported to Lowell General Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

No other injuries were reported, the release states.

The building was deemed structurally sound, but is closed due to the damage sustained in the wreck, police said.
