Lee Leaves Motley Crue for Family
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Tommy Lee is getting another divorce, this time from Motley Crue.
The 37-year-old drummer said he’s leaving the rock group he founded in 1981 with Nikki Sixx and will not be joining them on this summer’s ``Maximum Rock″ tour.
``I will miss them and the fans, but it’s time for me to totally embrace my family and my new projects,″ Lee said Thursday, the same day he and wife Pamela Anderson Lee said they had reconciled.
Guns ’N Roses drummer Matt Sorum was asked to replace Lee for the 40-city summer tour beginning in late June. Band spokeswoman Ashley Smith said Friday that Sorum has yet to accept.
Lee and his wife, the star of TV’s ``V.I.P″ and a former ``Baywatch″ actress, said they have decided to reunite and rebuild their family a year after their divorce. Lee was arrested for hitting her while on probation for attacking a photographer. He was given three years of probation and ordered to stay 100 yards away from Ms. Anderson.
Now they’re living together in Malibu. They have two children, 3-year-old Brandon and 1-year-old Dylan.
