SAINT NOM LA BRETECHE, France (AP) _ Ian Woosnam shot a 6-under-par 65 in windy conditions Saturday and moved into a tie for third place behind co-leaders Maarten Lafeber and Alex Cejka after three rounds of the Lancome Trophy.

Woosnam made a 90-yard wedge shot for an eagle on the par-4 10th, his first hole, and closed with a 45-foot birdie putt at No. 9. He finished with five birdies and one bogey for a three-round total of 8-under 205.

Lafeber, the leader after two rounds, shot a 3-over 74 and slipped into a tie with Cejka, who had a 1-over 72, at 9-under 204.

Woosnam, who won the Lancome in 1987 and ’93, is confident of his chances in the final round.

``I played really nicely,″ Woosnam said. ``There were some tough crosswinds. You’ve got to have control of the golf ball in this wind. If it keeps up, even if I’m five or six shots back, I would still have a chance to win tomorrow.″

England’s Simon Dyson and New Zealand’s Greg Turner shot 67s, tying Woosnam, England’s Ian Garbutt (68) and Bradley Dredge (70) in third place.

Nick Faldo closed with two bogeys and shot a 68, and defending champion Sergio Garcia had a 70 to finish in a six-way tie for 12th place at 207, three shots behind the leaders.
