Annual Women Tech Awards lunch to be held

The annual Women Tech Awards will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. The awards luncheon celebrates Utah’s top tech talent. More than 190 finalists and 25 student finalists have been recognized during the 11-year history of the Women Tech Awards.

The awards recognize technology-focused women throughout the industry who are driving innovation, creating new technologies, impacting technology companies and inspiring the technology community. The awards have also helped these women inspire other women and high school girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math fields.

America First named best credit union to work at

America First Credit Union was recently named one of the 2018 Best Credit Unions to Work For by Credit Union Journal and Best Companies Group. The 2018 list is made up of 50 credit unions from throughout the country.

Determining the Best Credit Unions to Work For involved evaluating each participating credit union’s workplace policies, practices and demographics, along with feedback from employees.

New People’s Intermountain Bank hires

People’s Intermountain Bank, the corporate entity for Bank of American Fork, announced the promotion of Ryan Jones to senior vice president/chief lending officer and the hiring of Michael Baum, vice president/manager of treasury management; Anthony Nielson, assistant vice president/director of data warehousing; and Jeremy Despain, assistant vice president/director of financial planning.

Jones has 18 years of banking experience, including 13 years with People’s Intermountain Bank and Bank of American Fork. Baum has over a decade of experience in treasury management. Nielson joined People’s Intermountain Bank in August, and has 10 years of banking experience, specializing in data warehousing. Despain joined People’s Intermountain Bank in September, and has been in the financial services industry for more than 13 years with brokerage firms and financial tech companies.
