Update: Man shot to death Monday in Southeast Rochester identified
Rochester Police are looking for information in an apparent homicide this morning.
Police were called to the 1900 block of Marion Road Southeast shortly after 4 a.m. for a report of a man who had been shot.
The man, Brandon Matthew Arndt, 38, of Rochester, was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders attempted lifesaving measures, Rochester Police Capt. John Sherwin said.
The shooting was reported by another person who was in the trailer at the time of the shooting but was asleep. The gunshot woke that person who then found the shooting victim at the open door to the home.
Sherwin said it appears the man was shot after answering the door.
Police are asking for the public’s help for information on the shooting.
“We have no known witnesses to this incident at this time,” Sherwin said.
A search warrant was to be executed today. The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s office also responded to the scene.
