WVC BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: GAR Holds Off Hanover Area

At Hanover Area, GAR went on the road to pull out a thrilling win, 55-53 over the Hawkeyes.

GAR led by 10 at halftime before withstanding a late Hanover Area rally.

Will Johnson, the Wyoming Valley Conference’s leading scorer, had another big night with 27 points.

Khairi Carson led Hanover Area with 24 points. Asad Whitehead added 17.

At Lake-Lehman, the Black Knights and visiting Tunkhannock played a tight first half before the Tigers pulled away in the third quarter.

Four Tunkhannock players scored in double figures, including Tyler Faux with 22 points and Ryan Harder with 15.

CJ Cercone had 11 points for Lake-Lehman.

At Wyoming Seminary, Todd Phillips (13 points), Jake Koretz (11) and Nick Ganter (11) did all their damage by the end of the third quarter, and Dimitri Gnall also finished with 11 points for the Blue Knights.
