Fundraiser on Oct. 10 for Growing Places
LANCASTER -- Join Growing Places for its annual fundraiser Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Lancaster Community Center, 695 Main St.
“Seasonal and Sustainable” will be the theme for the evening, which will feature fresh, local food donated by area farms and Eating In Catering; craft-beer tastings and conversations with brewers from Moon Hill Brewing and Gardner Ale House; and a live musical performance from area musicians.
“We are so excited to be having our harvest fundraiser in Lancaster this year,” Growing Places Executive Director Ayn Yeagle said. “With events primarily held in Leominster and Fitchburg over the past few years, this location will allow us to share the flourishing community gardens we built with the Lancaster Senior Center and return to our roots in Clinton, the home of one of our five Community Teaching Gardens.”
To accomplish the fundraising goals and create a fresh, healthy food experience that truly represents what Growing Places strives to accomplish every day, this year’s Harvest Fundraiser will include locally sourced appetizers prepared by Barbara Sacks and her crew from Eating In Catering in Leominster, craft brews from the inimitable brewers at Moon Hill Brewing in Gardner, a seasonal dessert competition for local chefs, a 2018 program highlights and community awards presentation, including the first-ever Foster Leadership Award presentation, live music, basket and 50/50 raffles, and a silent auction.
Tickets are $45. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.growingplaces.org or call 978-598-3723.
