Felty a Double-winner to Spark Innovation
The Innovation Academy boys tied for 8th as a team at Sunday’s MIAA Division 4 track and field championships in Norwell.
Innovation tallied 32 points to tie with East Bridgewater and Watertown. Triton was the winner with 60 points, followed by Amesbury (56).
Senior Aiden Felty won both the shot put (65-9.25) and the discus (149-9) to lead the way for IA. Senior Xavier MacShane took 1st in the high jump (6-5).
The quartet of sophomore Jack Benoit, senior William Hilliker, MacShane and sophomore Philip Kustura placed 7th in the 4x400 relay (3:38.84).
On the girls side, Austin Prep placed 11th as a team with 26 points. Amesbury was the champ with 70.5 points, followed by Weston (65).
Junior Emily Hickey captured 1st in the pole vault (10-6) and 5th in the 100 meter dash (12.91) and the long jump (16-3.75).
Junior Jenna Albanese was 3rd in the pole vault (8-6). The Cougars also placed 7th in the 4x800 relay and 8th in the 4x400 relay.
