AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL

August 2, 2018

STAMFORD—If the weather cooperates, the Stamford American Legion 17U and 15U Baseball All-Stars will be in state tournament action Thursday.

The Stamford Post 3 17U All-Stars saw their contest at Bethel High School against Hamden postponed by weather and field concerns Wednesday. The game has been moved to Thursday at 7 p.m. at Bethel HS’ William J. Hunt field.

Stamford and Hamden are playing in the 17U Southern Division state tournament final. The winner moves on to the overall Legion 17U State Tournament final series against West Hartford or Bristol of the Northern Division bracket.

In the 15U Legion state tournament, Stamford Post 3 will host Meriden Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Cubeta Stadium in the Southern Division finals. If Meriden wins the first game, an If Necessary contest will follow at 7 p.m. to decide a Southern Division champion.

The Stamford-Meriden winner will face either Northern Division finalist Ellington or Avon for the overall American Legion 15U state championship.
