Body of missing Japanese woman recovered from Montana lake
KALISPELL, Montana (AP) — Authorities in northern Montana have recovered the body of a Japanese woman who went missing during a fishing trip in November.
The Flathead Beacon reports that 75-year-old Fuki Nishibayashi’s body was found Tuesday in Mission Lake near Cut Bank.
Three people were believed to have fallen into the lake on Nov. 22. Divers recovered the body of 63-year-old Kazuhiko Hayashizaki of Canada three days later.
Fifty-six-year-old Danny Heyland of Canada is still missing.
The search for the missing fishing party was suspended in December because the lake had frozen over and heavy snowfall made it difficult to access the area.
Nishibayashi’s body was spotted by a Customs and Border Protection helicopter crew on a routine flight.
