Police: Sex offender failed to register Stamford address

February 8, 2019

STAMFORD — A city man — convicted of second-degree sexual assault and put on the state’s Sex Offender Registry — was charged with being a sex offender who failed to regularly register his address.

Schneidy Scutte, 20, of High Street, was held in lieu of a $50,000 court-appearance bond.

According to his four-page arrest affidavit, in July 2017 Scutte was sentenced at the Stamford courthouse to nine months in prison and required to register for 10 years as a sex offender as a result of being convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a minor.

As a result following his release, he was required to verify his address every 90 days. But the last time Scutte registered his address was in March 2018, the affidavit said.
