Rochester arts group plans two events
Rochester Friends of the Minneapolis Institute of Art have two events planned in the coming weeks.
— The Rochester group will take a bus trip Thursday to Minneapolis to attend a lecture, “Looking at the History of Fashion Through the Eyes of Artists,” by Aileen Ribeiro, head of the History of Dress Section at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. The visit will include a docent-led tour.
The bus leaves at 8:30 a.m. from 125 Live, 125 Elton Hills Drive NW. The fee is $30 for members, $35 for non-members. For reservations, call 507-993-9822.
— The Rochester Friends will host a lecture at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 20 at 125 Live. Sheila Dickinson, interim curator of art and public programs at the Rochester Art Center, will talk on “Looking at Contemporary Art: Why Does it Have to be So Difficult.” Coffee will be served at 10 a.m. Guests are welcome.
