Kentucky man gets 47 months in prison

IRONTON — A Boyd County man was sentenced to 47 months in prison Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty to tampering with evidence and admitting violating community control sanctions.

Danny Spurlock, 26, of South Amber Lane, Catlettsburg, Kentucky, was sentenced in the case by Judge Christen Finley. She ordered a three-year sentence for tampering to run consecutively with a sentence of 11 months in prison for violating community control sanctions.

In an unrelated case, Albert W. Jenkins, 27, of the 700 block of Lawrence Street, Ironton, admitted violating community control sanctions and was sentenced to 10 months in prison.

In other cases:

>> Walter M. Bocook, 46, of the 500 block of Rockwood Avenue, Chesapeake, admitted violating community control sanctions and was sentenced to eight months in prison.

>> Justin E. Lambert, 22, of County Road 3, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to theft from the elderly. He was placed on community control sanctions for four years and was ordered to pay $880 in restitution.

>> Jason D. Smith, 40, of the 2200 block of Spring Valley Drive, Huntington, admitted violating community control sanctions. He was ordered to complete up to a six-month program at the STAR Community Justice Center in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. He also was ordered to do 200 hours of community service.

>> Crystal Lewis, 37, of the 600 block of South 10th Street, Ironton, withdrew her plea of not guilty to four counts of harassment by an inmate. A pretrial was set for later this month.

>> Tiffany A. Laber, 30, of the 2200 block of North 5th Street, Ironton, pleaded innocent to four counts of trafficking in meth. Bond was set at $25,000.

>> Daniteleen P. Hodge, 47, of County Road 1, Chesapeake, pleaded innocent to identity fraud. Bond was set at $2,000.

>> Donald J. Porter II, 40, of Township Road 1079, Chesapeake, pleaded innocent to possession of meth. Bond was set at $2,000.

>> Angela S. Depriest, 47, of Township Road 1101E, South Point, pleaded innocent to possession of cocaine. Bond was set at $2,000.

>> Bridget N. Ellis, 37, of County Road 144, South Point, pleaded innocent to possession of meth. Ellis was released on a $25,000 signature bond. He also agreed to start a drug counseling program at Mended Reeds.

>> George R. Stanley, 35, of County Road 15, South Point, pleaded innocent to possession of controlled substances and possession of drug abuse instruments. He was released on a $15,000 signature bond.

>> James K. King, 35, of County Road 1, South Point, pleaded innocent to possession of meth. He was released on a $15,000 signature bond.

>> Dylon Dailey, 20, of Ironton, pleaded innocent to a charge of grand theft. He was released on a $10,000 signature bond.

>> John Hodge, no age listed, of County Road 1, Chesapeake, pleaded innocent to a charge of theft of a motor vehicle. He was released on a $10,000 signature bond.

>> Billy J. Layman, 50, of County Road 1, Chesapeake, pleaded innocent to a charge of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He has a prior DUI conviction. He also was ordered not to drive. Layman was released on a $10,000 signature bond.

>> Megan N. Lawhorn, 26, of County Road 1, South Point, pleaded innocent to possession of meth, aggravated possession of meth and possession of drug abuse instruments. She was released on a $10,000 signature bond.

>> Jacob D. Cochran, 25, of Ison Road, Franklin Furnace, pleaded innocent to possession of meth. He was released on a $10,000 signature bond.
