BOSTON (AP) _ Boston College's leading scorer Jessalyn Deveny will miss the remainder of the season because of a ruptured Achilles' tendon in her right foot.

Deveny, who averaged 17 points per game, underwent surgery Friday. She injured the foot Wednesday when No. 6 Notre Dame beat the 16th-ranked Eagles 64-57.

``To have (her) college career end like this is very disappointing to our whole program and, obviously, to Jess,'' coach Cathy Inglese said.

Deveny hadn't planned to play against Notre Dame because her foot was sore, but felt good during the pregame shootaround.
