Franklin Regional grad Macha earns HOF honor at Penn State Behrend

Penn State Behrend will induct the 2018 Hall of Fame class in Sept. 29, and part of the class includes Franklin Regional graduate Kristin Macha.

The individuals into the College’s Athletics Hall of Fame also include Kevin Buczynski (2008), Dustin Fairchild (2008), John Fleming (1976), Allison Mudrey (2008), Anthony Spoto (2008) and Brittany Yost (2007).

In addition, the 25th anniversary of the women’s basketball and softball ECAC championships, along with the 10-year anniversary AMCC championship teams will be honored.

Macha, a 2007 graduate, was a star infielder for Behrend from 2004-07. She earned softball first-team honors her sophomore and junior seasons in the all-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

She had 55 hits, 33 RBIs and a .470 batting average her junior year. She also is listed in numerous categories in the school’s record book.

Fleming, a Fox Chapel graduate and 1976 Behrend grad, was a member of the school’s soccer team.

He was a three-time captain who earned the White Letter Award, named Team MVP and Co-Athlete of the Year his senior campaign. He was also a two-time all-conference selection and a Regional All-American honorable mention.
