Victor D. Chicke, 79, of Kankakee, passed away Sunday (Sept. 23, 2018) at Miller Healthcare in Kankakee.
He was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Hazel Crest, the son of Victor and Irene Sorrell Chicke.
Victor had been married to Judy Bodry. Later, he married Bonnie Bohne. She preceded him in death. Then, he married Phyllis Steinke. She also preceded him in death. He then married Miria Lehnus Hester.
He was a retired insurance salesman. Victor enjoyed serving his church, woodworking and fishing. He was a member of Kiwanis International in Monticello, Ind., and volunteered with many projects through Kiwanis.
Victor served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He was an electronic technician for F101 fighter planes.
He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Goodland, Ind., and also attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Kankakee.
Surviving are his wife, Miria Chicke, of Kankakee; three sons, Mark and Kristi Walkowski, of Northville, Mich., Scott Walkowski and his fiancee, Brenda Frederick, of Arlington Heights, and Matthew and Blanca Chicke, of Joliet; three daughters, Michele and John Hoskins, of Bourbonnais, Carolyn Chicke, of Moweaqua, and Cynthia and Kenny Anderson, of Assumption; 21 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his wives, Bonnie and Phyllis, he was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Raymond.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Henley officiating.
Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Goodland, Ind., or the Salvation Army in Logansport, Ind.
