Military Plane Crashes, Pilots Escape Injury
MARYSVILLE, Calif. (AP) _ A small military trainer aircraft crashed Tuesday in a rural area of Yuba County, but the pilots ejected and were not injured, a U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman said.
″A jet did go down near Bullards Bar Reservoir, but the two pilots ejected and they are safe,″ said Ann Westling. ″The aircraft is on fire but the fire isn’t spreading.″
She said Forest Service personnel were at the crash site, about 60 miles northeast of Sacramento.
Forest Service officials said the plane, described as a T-37 Trainer, was from Mather Air Force Base near Sacramento.
