Barker scores 23, Irish defeat Buffalo 62-53

HUNTINGTON — Bronson Barker tossed in 23 points and made five of his 3-point shots Tuesday in Huntington St. Joe’s 62-53 boys basketball victory over Buffalo.

Noah Bolton added 21 points for the Irish (4-13) who are hosting Class A No. 1 Notre Dame at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Alec Hanshaw’s 15 points led the Bison (5-9). Noah Thompson scored 13 and Jackson England tacked on 10.

GRACE CHRISTIAN 60, WAYNE 48: Ricky Tanner scored 19 and Eli Foster 15 as the Soldiers (7-9) won a home game over the Pioneers. Grace Christian jumped to an 18-6 lead and never trailed. Nick Bryant scored 13 and Ben Pomeroy 10 for Wayne.

Josh Roten scored eight points, grabbed seven rebounds and made six steals. Taylor Dean paced Parkersburg Catholic (2-13) with 12 points.

MEIGS 57, RIVER VALLEY 25: Kassidy Betzing scored 16 and Madison Fields 10 as the Marauders (11-8 overall, 5-5 Tri-Valley Conference defeated the visiting Raiders (5-15, 0-10). Kelsey Brown led River Valley with eight points.

BOYD COUNTY 61, RUSSELL 41: The Lions (18-3) overcame an early seven-point deficit to beat the Red Devils (16-4) in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Savannah Wheeler paced Boyd County with 26 points. Harley Paynter scored 16. Lakie Sanders led Russell with 13 points.

LAWRENCE COUNTY 62, RACELAND 53: Kensley Feltner scored 21 and Alexis Radcliffe 20 as the Bulldogs (14-8) defeated the Rams in Louisa, Kentucky. Kiersten Smith and Holly Bryant each scored 10 for Raceland.

WHEELERSBURG 73, GREENUP COUNTY 44: Abbie Kallner made eight 3-pointers and scored 32 to lead the Pirates to a rout of the Musketeers in Lloyd, Kentucky. Kaylee Darnell and Alaina Keeney scored 12 each. Lauren Hannah paced Greenup County with 10 points.
