Man sentenced for drunk driving crash that killed 2
NEWPORT, Vt. (AP) — A judge has sentenced a Vermont man to eight to 15 years with seven years to serve in jail for a crash that killed an engaged couple and injured a third woman.
The Caledonian-Record reports 32-year-old Joshua Cole was sentenced Friday after he pleaded guilty to charges of manslaughter and gross negligent operation.
Police say Cole was drunk and speeding when he went off the road and crashed into a tree in West Charleston in May 2016.
The crash killed 29-year-old Charlene Esperanza Robles and her fiancé Ryan Coulter.
Amanda Letourneau was injured in the crash, and she will have her lower right leg amputated in the new year as a result.
