Man arrested in death of woman in Hampden, Maine
HAMPDEN, Maine (AP) — Police in Maine say they’ve arrested a 55-year-old man on a murder charge stemming from a homicide that occurred in his hometown.
Police say Philip Clark was charged in the death of a woman who lived in his building in Hampden.
State police say an autopsy performed Saturday determined the victim died of multiple gunshot wounds. They say an identification couldn’t immediately be made because of some of the injuries.
Police say the building Clark and the victim lived in has been secured and an investigation is ongoing.
It was unclear Saturday if Clark had been able to retain an attorney. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail on Friday. An automated message at the jail said bond information for Clark was not available on Saturday.
