Phillip Michael Grimshaw, 29, of Bradley, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday (Sept. 28, 2018) at his home.
He was born Feb. 18, 1989, in Chicago.
Phillip grew up in Colombia and in New Jersey.
He attended welding school from 2008 to 2010. Phillip pursued a career in the gas industry then moved to Illinois.
Working in construction, he was starting a family and building a home with Emily McGrath (fiancée), his daughter, Lilly, unborn son, Alexander, and his two cats, Buddy and Felix.
Phillip was a full-time construction worker. In his free time, he was an avid reader. He prioritized his young family above all else. His ability to tell a story was unlike any other. Phillip especially loved his two cats, Buddy and Felix. His legacy will continue to live on through his son, Alexander.
He will be remembered with love by his fiancée, Emily McGrath; his daughter, Lilly Olena; his son, Alexander; his mother, Carolina, and her husband, Steven Cook; his father, Marc Grimshaw; his brother, Matthew Grimshaw; his maternal grandparents, Marco and Elvira Martinez; his aunt, Adriana, and her husband, Alberto Serrano; his aunt, Ana Catalina, and her husband, Pedro Fontecha; his uncle, Alejandro Martinez, and his wife, Sandra; Emily’s parents, Tim and Linda McGrath; along with several cousins and great-aunts and great-uncles.
Visitation will be from noon until 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of his fiancée, Emily McGrath.
