Opry Star Hospitalized Again
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Grand Ole Opry star Roy Acuff, known in the industry as ″the king of country music,″ was being treated for exhaustion Tuesday in a hospital.
Acuff, 89, was in stable condition at Baptist Hospital, spokeswoman Debby Koch said. He was admitted Sunday afternoon.
Acuff, who has performed on the Opry country music show since 1938 and still sings nearly every weekend, also was treated at the hospital in early September for lung congestion.
Koch said Acuff probably would be released Wednesday or Thursday.
