Fire marshal investigates RV fire
The state police fire marshal is investigating a blaze that destroyed an RV camper in Addison Township on Saturday night.
Fire departments from Addison, Confluence and Markleysburg were dispatched at 10:45 p.m. to put out a fire at the intersection of Sarvis Road and Birch Road in Addison Township. It took 20 minutes to knock down.
The 20 firefighters left the scene at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, according to Somerset County Control.
Leroy McClintock, first lieutenant for Addison Volunteer Fire Department, said they didn’t have any issues with water or anything else.
“When we first arrived, the RV was fully involved and some of the woods was too,” McClintock said. “It wasn’t too complicated. Everyone got on scene and worked well together. We got it knocked down.”
The identity of the owner is unknown and no one was injured in the fire, McClintock said. It was estimated as a total loss.
