Cummings Named Publisher Of European Journal
NEW YORK (AP) _ William A. Cummings, the Wall Street Journal’s national advertising services manager, has been named publisher of the Journal’s European edition, Dow Jones & Co. announced Thursday.
Cummings, who succeeds Thomas P. Eglinton, will assume his new post at the Wall Street Journal-Europe on Aug. 15 in Brussels.
Cummings, 47, joined Dow Jones in 1963 as a junior accountant. He was named national advertising services manager in 1985.
Dow Jones began publishing the Wall Street Journal-Europe in 1983. The paper has a current circulation of 44,700.
As previously announced, Eglinton will become managing director of Review Publishing Co. and publisher of its flagship magazine, Far Eastern Economic Review, both based in Hong Kong and owned by Dow Jones.
