Country station manager charged in fiance’s slaying
CARROLLTON, Ga. (AP) _ The manager of a country music station turned herself in to police after firefighters found the body of her fiance _ shot once in the head _ in their torched log cabin.
Amy Bullington, 23, was charged with murdering Steven Mathis Conner, 26, whom she began dating two years ago. The couple told friends earlier this year they planned to get married.
Carroll County Sheriff Tony Reeves would not talk Wednesday about a possible motive or whether a weapon had been found.
Ms. Bullington, 23, played her favorite tune _ ``Has Anybody Seen Amy?″ by John and Audrey Wiggins _ before the end of her shift Monday afternoon at WWWE-AM in Carrollton.
That was the last anyone saw of her until she turned herself in Wednesday, the same day murder charges were filed against her. She is being held without bond and is to appear in court Friday.
