COON RAPIDS — The Rochester Community and Technical College women’s basketball team played likely its best game of the year, but the Yellowjackets still fell short of a win Saturday, falling 83-73 to Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
Grace Riley had a big game for RCTC with 21 points. She was 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Olivia Matti added 15 points and Alyssa Whitson had 14.
RCTC led 39-34 at halftime but couldn’t hang on.
“It was our best game of the year,” RCTC coach Steve Hucke said. “I was really proud of our effort today.”
RCTC shot 41 percent from the field.
The Yellowjackets are 0-2 in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference and 3-11 overall.
