Greenwich man had pot in car: cops

July 9, 2018

GREENWICH — A Greenwich man is accused of having pre-packaged marijuana, ready for sale, in his car.

Police pulled over a Toyota Scion for speeding on Hamilton Avenue Saturday around noon on Hamilton Avenue, according to the arrest report, and a strong odor of cannabis was detected from the car.

The driver of the vehicle called her son, who responded to the scene. He said the marijuana in the car belonged to him, according to the arrest report, and the female operator was not charged.

Malcolm Moody, 26, of Bertold Road, Riverside, was cited for two misdemeanors. He had more than an ounce of marijuana — leading to the charge of illegal possession of marijuana — and he had it in packaged form, triggering a charge of possession with intent to sell, according to police.

Moody was released on $500 bail.
