Authorities capture escaped prisoner in forest

LITTLEROCK, Wash. (AP) — Authorities arrested a prisoner accused of escaping from his work crew south of Olympia.

KCPQ-TV reports investigators say Chad Michael Ramsey was working outside of the Cedar Creek Corrections Center perimeter near Littlerock just before 3 p.m. Monday when he escaped.

The Washington State Department of Corrections tweeted that he had been caught in the Capitol State Forest area just before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Ramsey was serving a 29-month sentence for second-degree burglary, harassment and unlawful imprisonment. His release date was tentatively set for Oct. 16, 2019.
