UPDATE: Police: Armed robbery being investigated at Tractor Supply

October 9, 2018

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at Tractor Supply.

According to a post on the MSCO Facebook page, deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at 8:12 a.m. Monday in the 4500 block of West U.S. 10 in Amber Township.

Police are asking that citizens avoid the area until further notice while the scene is investigated.

Police said the suspect displayed a long gun, tied up an employee and locked that employee in a closet. That employee was later found tied up by a coworker. It is not known how long the employee was tied up.

Money was stolen, but the amount is unknown at this time.

The suspect was wearing a mask and fled the scene on-foot.

Tractor Supply’s IT has access to security camera footage and is sharing it with detectives.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who was in the area at about 7 a.m. this morning with information to give the office a call.

The store will remain closed until all evidence is collected from the scene.

All Mason County schools went into a soft lockdown this morning, but that has since been lifted.

It’s believed the robbery took place at about 7 a.m., but it wasn’t reported until 8:12 a.m.

Daily News will report more information as it becomes available.
