MALC, Warriors will vie for 1st win

September 28, 2018

BULLHEAD CITY — Two exciting things will happen tonight at Firebird Field during the Arizona Interscholastic Association 1A West Region game.

The Mohave Accelerated Learning Center Patriots football team will be hosting its homecoming game, and the Patriots or the San Pasqual High School Warriors, from Winterhaven, California, will be celebrating their first victory of the season when the final buzzer goes off — that is unless the game somehow ends in a tie.

The Warriors are 0-5 overall, 0-2 in region and the Patriots are 0-5, 0-2. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Patriots head coach Adam Gibson said MALC has been excited during homecoming week. “It’s quite a nice little buzz going around,” he added.

The Patriots fell 64-16 to the Wildcats at Mayer High School on Sept. 21.

Logan Costa scored a rushing TD, Coleton Brooke tossed a TD pass to Costa and Brooke recorded two 2-point conversions, which accounted for MALC’s offense against the Wildcats.
