Highly rated 2020 wing Julian Strawther lists Gonzaga in top 10
Julian Strawther, a top-40 recruit in the 2020 class, has Gonzaga in his top 10.
Strawther, a junior wing at Liberty High in Las Vegas, visited Gonzaga last weekend along with top-10 2020 guard Jalen Suggs and watched the 94-46 rout over Saint Mary’s.
The 6-foot-7 Strawther trimmed his list to 10 with Washington, Florida, Florida State, USC, UNLV, Cal, Marquette, Oklahoma and UCLA joining the Zags.
Strawther has taken official visits to Florida, Florida State, Marquette and Gonzaga. He told Rivals.com he plans on visiting Washington next month. He’s open to unofficial visits to other schools.
He plans on cutting his list in July before making a decision prior to his senior year.
Strawther, Gonzaga 2019 commit Pavel Zakharov and center Oumar Ballo, a 2019 GU recruit, have been invited to the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp, held during NBA All-Star Weekend, Friday through Sunday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The fifth annual camp gives NBA teams a chance to watch top international players. Rui Hachimura attended the camp before coming to Gonzaga. Strawther represents Puerto Rico, Ballo is from Mali and Zakharov is a Russian native who plays for Montverde (Florida) Academy.
Ballo, who is 16 1/2 years old, is the youngest of the 40 players invited.
