Badger South volleyball: Goslings sweep MG, improve to 5-0 in league
MONONA — Junior setter Isabelle Schauer put up 29 assists and served five aces for Watertown’s volleyball team in a 25-17, 25-13, 25-12 Badger South win over Monona Grove on Thursday.
Watertown (24-5, 5-0 in conference) stayed perfect in league play behind 11 kills from senior middle and outside hitter Brianne Korducki and six each from senior outside hitter Allie Stair and junior outside hitter Samantha Gray.
Korducki added nine digs. Senior libero Sheridan Dettmann had 10 digs and served four aces. Junior defensive specialist Danielle Weissenrieder added eight digs. Senior middle Ashley Stas recorded two blocks.
Monona Grove (9-8, 1-4) is coached by Melissa Hahn, who coached at Watertown the previous three seasons.
“It was nice to see coach Hahn,” Watertown volleyball coach Carrie Hein said.
“She’s a great coach. It was fun to be able to work with her and it was interesting and fun to coach against her tonight. Our girls played pretty solid and were able to get the job done.”
Watertown travels to West Bend for the Lynn LaPorte Sprawl, a two-day tournament which starts today and concludes on Saturday.
