Creighton men’s basketball advances to Cayman Islands Classic Championship Game after defeating Georgia State
Mitch Ballock scored 23 points, Damien Jefferson added 20 to lead four players in double figures and Creighton routed Georgia State 93-68 last night to advance to the championship game of the Cayman Islands Classic against 16th ranked Clemson tonight at 6:30.
Ballock made six three-pointers and had seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. Jefferson added six boards. The Bluejays made eight three-pointers in the first half, shot 61% from the field and forced eleven turnovers en route to a 28-point lead. They finished 14-32 from three-point range. D’Marcus Simonds (Simons) had 21 points and Kane Williams added 20 to lead the Panthers. Creighton is now 4-1 on the season while Georgia State drops to 3-2.
