State agency wants details on Yale-clinic partnership plan
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut state agency is asking for details on a planned collaboration between Yale New Haven Hospital and two local federally qualified health clinics.
The state Office of Health Strategy is asking for details on a proposal to help low-income patients with medical costs, and on transportation options. The New Haven Register reports the hospital and the clinics testified that, after years of study, they want to form the New Haven Primary Care Consortium.
The partnership says it is a way to eliminate duplication of services offered by the three primary care options in New Haven. The proposal would need approval from the state Office for Health Strategy in order to go forward.
