Two Police Hurt As Bomb Explodes In Courthouse

June 13, 1985

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) _ A bomb exploded in a federal courthouse in the city of Rosario, injuring two police explosives experts and causing heavy damage, a police spokesman said.

The bomb blew up Wednesday in a second-floor bathroom of the courthouse, said Edgardo Fiori, a Santa Fe provincial police spokesman. Rosario, the country’s second largest city after Buenos Aires, is 200 miles north of the capital.

An anonymous phone call made to a criminal judge in the courthouse alerted authorities to the bomb, said Fiori.

Fiori said no one had claimed responsibility for the bomb, and police do not know who set it. Both right- and left-wing terrorist groups periodically set off bombs and launch other terrorist attacks in Argentina.
